When Volkl developed the new Racetiger SL R Jr, the R&D team together with ski legends Giorgio Rocca and Manfred Pranger tested every single ski length with boys and girls from various ski clubs and also with their own children. Giorgo's sons, Francesco and Giaccomo, as well as Manfred's kids, Mario and Laura Pranger, are all very talented and enthusiastic junior racers and their feedback combined with their fathers' knowhow did significantly contribute to the new construction of the Racetiger SL R Jr.

Modern ski designs and today's race courses involve spending more time on the sidewalls and edges. Völkl engineers siezed an opportunity to make faster skis we view the sidewalls not just as lateral boundaries, but a continuation of the surface in contact with the snow. Speedwall sidewall material is made out of a proprietary composite sintered base material, so Speedwall sidewalls can be waxed, just like the bases. In racing, that means less friction and more speed!

On average, your skis should fall somewhere between your chin and forehead when held upright. There are a few additional details that play a significant role in determining which ski size is best fit for you. After consulting the size chart, be sure to consider your weight, skill level, skiing style and the type of terrain you’ll be frequenting.
Here are some reasons for sizing up or down:
Weight
- Size up if you are closer to the high end of your weight range or above average weight for your height.
- Size down if you are closer to the low end of your weight range or below average weight for your height.
Skill Level and Style

to be fast and aggressive in style.
- Longer skis tend to have a more stable feel.
