Description

COTTON

Cotton is the most widely used fiber in the world. It has good strength, is extremely soft and comfortable, and since it's quick drying it is perfect to wear in hot weather conditions.

NYLON

The first completely synthetic fiber developed. Known for its high strength and excellent resilience, nylon has superior abrasion resistance and high flexibility.

FEATHER

Features duck or goose feather insulation for superior warmth.

DOWN INSULATION

Down is a natural insulator with a high warmth-to-weight ratio. It is produced from a layer of fine feathers found under the tougher exterior feathers of ducks or geese. Down offers excellent thermal properties, has good lofting characteristics and traps small pockets of air efficiently, which creates a thermal barrier. Down insulation is rated by fill power, measured as the number of cubic inches displaced by a given ounce of down (inĀ³/oz). Higher fill-power down will insulate better than lower fill-power down of the same weight.

WOOL

Usually associated with fiber or fabric made from the fleece of sheep or lambs.

ACRYLIC

Acrylic is lightweight, soft, and warm, synthetic fiber with a wool-like feel. It dyes very well and has excellent colourfastness. It is resilient, retains its shape, and resists shrinkage and wrinkles.

SPANDEX

Blending spandex with other fabrics creates a more stable, durable garment. Adding spandex to a fabric also provides a higher level of comfort, a longer shelf life, and a better resistance to perspiration and body oils.

RIBBED

A texture of a garment that features raised, vertical stripes. Typically found on sweaters.

FUR

Leather with the hair retained for its insulating properties. It is soft, lightweight and a natural insulator.

Hint: For the most accurate results, measure yourself in your undergarments.

  • Neck: Measure around the base of your neck, inserting your forefinger between the tape and your neck to allow ease in fit.
  • Chest: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping tape firmly under your armpits and around your shoulder blades.
  • Waist: Measure around your waist, slightly below your natural waist, where you normally wear your pants. Insert your forefinger between the tape and your body to allow ease in fit.
  • Sleeve Length: Bend your arm slightly. Measure from center back neck, across your shoulder, down to your elbow, down to your wrist.
  • Hip: Measure around the fullest part of your hips, inserting your forefinger between the tape and your hip to allow ease in fit.
  • Inseam: Measure a similar pant that fits you well. Measure along the inseam, from the crotch seam to the bottom of the hem.
