What are recovery sandals, and do I need them?

Recovery sandals (HOKA, OOFOS) use dual-density foam footbeds to absorb impact and cradle the arch after workouts or long days standing. They're particularly useful for runners and anyone managing foot fatigue or plantar fasciitis. Not essential for everyone, but a meaningful comfort upgrade over flat, unsupportive everyday sandals.

Are outdoor sport sandals suitable for hiking?

Yes, for warm-weather trails and stream crossings. Sport sandals feature rugged, multidirectional lugs and adjustable webbing straps for secure grip on dirt and wet surfaces, and they drain and dry quickly. They offer less toe protection than closed hiking shoes, so they're best for moderate, well-maintained terrain.

How do I clean cork-bed sandals?

Wipe the footbed with a damp cloth and mild soap; never submerge cork in water or leave it in a hot car, since both cause warping or cracking. Let sandals air dry naturally, and periodically apply a cork sealant to maintain flexibility and extend the footbed's lifespan.

Should my toes reach the edge of my sandals?

No, your whole foot should sit within the footbed with a small margin around the edge. Toes or heels hanging off increase the risk of stubbing and cause uneven footbed wear. If you're between sizes, sizing up slightly is safer than sizing down for sandals.

Do men's sandals require a break-in period?

Leather and cork sandals typically need a few weeks to mold to your foot, with some initial stiffness around the straps. EVA foam and synthetic sandals are comfortable immediately. Wear leather or cork styles for shorter stretches initially rather than a full day right away.

Can I return sandals if the straps rub my feet?

Yes, within 30 days, provided they're unworn and in original condition with tags attached. Test indoors on carpet first, since outdoor wear disqualifies a return. If straps rub, bring them back with your receipt for an exchange to a different size or style.

Are men's sandals available for in-store pickup?

Yes, use our free Buy Online, Pick Up In-Store service to reserve your size and collect at your nearest location, often within hours. This avoids shipping costs and lets you try them on immediately before fully committing, with an in-store exchange available if anything's off.
